Blogging is a funny hobby. It comes and goes in bouts. I’ve found recently that I’ve been blogging a lot on my personal blog, and yet my lovely Straight Stitching blog has become somewhat neglected. Unintentionally I might add.
I don’t want it to be like that anymore; I want my blog to be loved by me AND my readers and that seemed to be more the case with my personal blog. Yet, the one I want to be out there, to reach out to people is this one. So I’ve made a decision (and i’ve made a few of them lately).
I’m going to revolutionise Straight Stitching.
Before I wanted it to be about my work, about everything stitchy. But I love writing about other things too, and so without further ado, I’m going to make Straight Stitching a bit more personal. I’ve had a tinker with the logo and a few other bits and bobs, but mostly it’ll be the posts you’ll see here that will be the biggest change.
I’ve been keeping a distant eye on the A Playful Day blog, and something Kate has recently been promoting there is #loveyourblog; basically showing your blog some love, and almost how to become a better, more inspired blogger. I love Kate’s blog, it’s so colourful, brilliant styling, and a good mix of work and play. That’s what I want to aim for here. I missed the boat with #loveyourblog as I was in the midst of recovering from PND, but now I’m well on my way to recovery I really want to show my blog some love, and share the things I love with you, my readers.
I really hope you’ll join me on the journey. Why not share your favourite blogs with me?
In the meantime, I’m working on a couple of new stitching ideas. There’s a brooch in progress, I’ve bought some findings to make some stitched jewellery, but my favourite thing is the revolutionised Birth Sampler. Here’s a sneaky peak….
