My thumb has nearly dropped off. It’s definitely numb at the end, and has a bright red ring around the base.
I finished my second piece of ‘faux chenille’, which was apparently a few layers thicker than the first piece!
Although they’re both made from the same sheets of fabric and paper, there is a clear difference between both pieces. This became more apparent when I was scouring the second piece, possibly because it was a bit thicker. But it has revealed some of the foiling quite beautifully.
Look at all that lovely texture! I just want to keep touching it, it feels lovely! I’m really pleased with both pieces, and I wanted to put them up somewhere at home. My initial thoughts were to put them in the lounge as our chimney is a beautiful shade of green paint from Fired Earth. However, I couldn’t find somewhere they would fit without moving other pictures & canvases, so I headed out to our hallway. They’re now on the wall there, flanking The Husband’s photo from the Nurburgring, and I’m sure you’ll agree that the colours in my work match the trackside grass quite beautifully!
Anyway, after looking into screen printing, I thought I might dabble with my lino printing supplies. I took the children to the park yesterday afternoon and took a few pictures for inspiration.
I can already see a little sketch coming out that I’d like to transfer to lino, maybe for another go at faux chenille with a twist…..
