After the excitement of being up at 6am to yarnstorm Solihull yesterday, I went back to Solihull in the evening to take in the decorations in all their glory! There were lots throughout Mell Square and Solihull High Street. I thought I’d share a selection of some of my favourites.
Pom Pom topiary
Tree bunting. I love this!
But my absolute favourite was this beautiful hanging basket by Knit For A Bit member Margaret, as a tribute to her father. It’s SO eye catching that you can see it from across Mell Square, and so beautifully made too.
Everyone who was involved has worked so hard, and created some beautiful pieces. On a personal note, I’d like to thank the following (in no particular order) for their help with the project!
If I’ve missed anyone, then I’m really really sorry, but still thank you anyway! (I’ve wracked my brains hard to make sure I’ve got everyone!)
I’d also like to thank Denise for teaching me to crochet, instead of my own special way of crocheting and for providing me with tutorials and patterns so I could make something other than granny squares!
Inspired by my crocheting efforts, my husband decided he wanted to have a go at crochet (how hard can it be?!). Turns out it’s harder than he thought….
